On-Site Coaching for building the National Computable General Equilibrium Model for Mauritius

A collaborative on-site coaching program, facilitated by Expertise France 🇫🇷 and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), in partnership with Maurice Stratégie, took place from 31 March to 15 April 2025 📅. This program was dedicated to building capacity for the development of a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model for Mauritius to better analyse the country’s economic structure and inform policy decisions 💡.

The on-site training equipped participants with an understanding of CGE model frameworks, their potential for quantitative assessment 📈, the construction of the Mauritius National CGE model equations 🧮, and the practical application of the GAMS software 💻.

Representatives from the Ministry of Financial Services and Economic Planning, Maurice Stratégie, and Statistics Mauritius benefited from this training initiative 👥.

Building upon the foundation established during the on-site coaching, participants will benefit from a further six weeks of online guidance 🌐, focused on preparing additional structural enhancements for the model.
