Economic and Social Impact Analysis of the National Budget 2024/25

This paper analyses the impact of budget 2024 on the Mauritian society from an economic and social perspective.

The impact of different expenditures on several macroeconomic indicators are evaluated using the Computable General Equilibrium Model whereby various GDP indicators are assessed.

From a social point of view, the study sheds light on fundamental social allowances with a view to tackle poverty. The implication of the study would therefore be to improve the welfare of the Mauritian population.
