Economic and Social Impact Analysis of the National Budget 2023/24

The paper provides an overview of the economic structure of the Mauritian economy, using statistics from the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development; Statistics Mauritius; Bank of Mauritius; EBD and MRA. The main aim is to study the various macro-economic indicators such as GDP; taxation; employment, amongst others. Two main macro-economic models are used namely the Computational General Equilibrium Model and the Structural Macro Economic Model.
